Nurse Manager Surgical Services (Operating Room)
About The Position
A leading regional healthcare organization in the Pensacola, Florida area is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager of Surgical Services to oversee operating room operations and clinical staff. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled perioperative leader who thrives on collaboration, precision, and innovation in a fast-paced surgical setting. The Manager will support a surgical team that performs a diverse range of procedures, maintaining the highest standards of safety, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. Working closely with anesthesia, surgeons, and perioperative leadership, this role is instrumental in driving quality improvement and operational excellence across the OR.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Florida or Compact State
- Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of recent leadership experience in an operating room or surgical services setting
- BLS certification within 30 days of hire
Nice To Haves
- CNOR or CNML certification
- Experience managing large surgical teams within an acute care hospital
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and quality metrics
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day management of surgical services, ensuring efficient patient flow and high-quality perioperative care.
- Lead initiatives focused on patient safety, staff engagement, and process improvement.
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation requirements, and evidence-based surgical practices.
- Collaborate with medical and administrative leaders to support program growth and strategic planning.
- Participate in capital equipment planning and departmental budgeting.
- Mentor nurses and surgical technologists, fostering professional growth and retention.
- Promote a culture of accountability, compassion, and continuous learning.
