About The Position

A top-performing healthcare facility in Plano, Texas is seeking a driven Nurse Manager for Surgical Services (OR) to lead a multidisciplinary surgical team focused on cardiovascular and spine excellence. This position manages approximately 60 full-time employees across multiple areas, including Spine OR, CVOR, Sterile Processing, Anesthesia Technicians, and Perioperative Support. The Nurse Manager will champion surgical quality, workflow efficiency, and patient safety ensuring every procedure is delivered with precision, collaboration, and compassion.

Requirements

  • Active Texas or Compact RN license
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in Surgical Services or Operating Room settings
  • Current BLS certification

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration
  • CNOR certification (required within 12 months if not current)
  • Background in multi-specialty OR leadership (CVOR, Spine, General Surgery)

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and clinical leadership across perioperative departments.
  • Direct OR scheduling, staffing, and daily case coordination.
  • Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical services leadership to achieve departmental goals.
  • Manage equipment, inventory, and operating budgets to optimize performance.
  • Mentor, coach, and evaluate staff performance, fostering an engaged and accountable team culture.
  • Lead departmental projects focused on patient experience, throughput, and quality outcomes.
