This position makes a significant contribution to MCS’s mission by conducting monitoring visits in Texas nursing facilities. The Nurse Quality Monitor III utilizes expertise in the area of nursing to assess conditions that could place facility residents’ health, safety, and welfare at risk and assists providers in improving systems. This position must be able to apply the complex knowledge of nursing practice as well as the rules outlined in the Texas Nursing Practice Act. The Nurse III will be familiar with local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to long-term care. The Quality Monitor Nurse (QMN) III works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs highly complex (senior-level) nursing work. The Quality Monitor Nurse utilizes expertise in the area of nursing to assess conditions that could place facility residents’ health, safety, and welfare at risk and assist providers in improving systems. Work may include serving as a resource on nursing practices and education programs by performing consultative and administrative work. May serve as a mentor providing direction to others.
