About The Position

Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse preceptor: Coordinates and delivers patient care using the health care team philosophy practice model. Coordinates and does patient teaching and discharge planning. Coordinates activities with ancillary departments. Maintains standards of department and the hospital. Reports to Nurse Manager or designee. Provides the best possible nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions of patients on the unit.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in an accredited registered nursing school program
• Have successfully completed one (1) academic year or two (2) clinical semesters of clinical courses in nursing
• Must be in good standing in the school of nursing and agree to comply with Mississippi student nurse externship program guidelines
