Unit Description It is the goal of the Resource Pool department to assist with staffing needs throughout the hospital by providing supplemental Registered Nurses, Nurse Techs, Nurse Aides or Certified Nursing Assistants as requested by the nursing units. The Resource Pool department assists with staffing licensed and non-licensed staff for Critical Care and Med-Surg departments Patient populations differ based on area staffed and the clinical clusters include: Med-Surg RN: 3E, 3W, GT/SCU, 4E, 4W, Cardiac ICCU, 5W, Med-Surg ICCU, SWCC, OPS, and Endoscopy Critical Care RN: MICU, TSICU, BICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, COPS, Endoscopy, SWCC, EC and PACU. Non-licensed staff: are assigned to nursing units throughout the hospital according to established clinical competency and identified needs. •Job Summary: Students working as nurse technicians are responsible for providing basic patient care under the supervision of a nurse. Nurse tech duties generally include observing patients, recording their vital signs and reporting any changes in their condition. Qualifications A nursing student (RN program) who has completed half of their nursing curriculum and clinical experience. Must have a clinical instructor complete Nurse Tech skills validation form Must provide copy of current nursing transcript Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association Questions?
