Texas Health Plano is seeking to hire Junior 2 and Senior level nursing students for our 7-week Nurse Extern Program. This is a paid, 7-week Externship that focuses on the Extern learning the role of the RN in an acute care setting. This program brings together students and preceptors in a unique, one-on-one clinical partnership where mentor relationships strengthen the students’ awareness of nursing scope of practice and critical thinking skills. Students in this program receive a mix of on-unit and off-unit learning to develop their communication and interpersonal skills and assist with procedures and treatments. Since 1991, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano has served the communities of Plano, Frisco, Carrollton, Addison, Richardson, and McKinney.
