About The Position

The Nurse Educator is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs to support the ongoing professional development of nursing staff and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. This role collaborates with clinical and administrative leadership to assess educational needs and develop initiatives that align with organizational goals and standards.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of clinical nursing experience required
  • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in evidence-based nursing practice.
  • Excellent teaching and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate with staff and leadership.
  • Proficiency in using technology and learning management systems to deliver and track educational content.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to assess educational needs, develop learning objectives, and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and guidelines impacting nursing practice and education.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry advancements.
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of experience in nursing education or staff development preferred
  • 1+ years of ICU experience preferred
  • NPD - Nursing Professional Development preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develops and delivers evidence-based educational programs, workshops, and in-services to meet the learning needs of staff.
  • Conducts needs assessments to identify educational gaps and evaluates the effectiveness of educational interventions.
  • Serves as a resource and mentor for clinical staff, providing guidance on best practices and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborates with department leaders to ensure orientation and training programs are aligned with department-specific and organizational requirements.
  • Facilitates competency-based education and training to ensure staff are proficient in current clinical practices and technologies.
  • Participates in the development and revision of policies and procedures related to clinical education and practice standards.
  • Utilizes various teaching methods and technologies to enhance the learning experience and accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Maintains accurate records of educational activities, staff participation, and competency assessments.
  • Keeps current with trends and advancements in nursing practice, education, and regulatory requirements to ensure educational content is relevant and up to date.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
