About The Position

Nurse Educator Opportunity - This is a full time, hour per week position. At Arbour Hospital, we work diligently and compassionately to provide patients and their families with high-quality care and service excellence across a continuum of specialized behavioral health services. We have proudly served the residents of the greater Boston area since 1909. Our medical staff consists of psychiatrists who average 20 years of practice at our facility, providing a solid and trusted foundation for our patient-focused approach to behavioral healthcare. We are an important community resource for a wide range of vital behavioral healthcare services. We treat primary psychiatric and substance abuse disorders and constantly strive to meet the needs of our communities with treatment that address individualized behavioral health needs. We stand ready to provide compassionate care through inpatient treatment and a strong continuum of aftercare services, community-based programs, and day treatment. The Nurse Educator is professional nurse position, providing discipline-focused orientation for nursing staff.

Requirements

  • MA RN License
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education: Masters Preferred
  • Current CPR, Handle with Care certified preferred
  • 2 years Inpatient Psychiatric Experience Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Identify and assesses the education needs of clinical staff to ensure that they are competent to provide direct patient care
  • Provide leadership to the nursing staff in the nursing care delivery system in accordance with Arbour Hospital’s philosophy and established nursing standards of practice of care and policies and procedures
  • Conducts clinical training of nursing staff to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies
  • Perform audits to access competency and compliance of nursing staff
  • Collaborate with medical providers, patient care staff, and unit management in the planning, implementation, and delivery of educational curricula
  • Educate technical and patient care staff in the use of new equipment, supplies, and instruments
  • Conduct patient groups on assigned units
  • Other duties assigned by the Director of Education
