The Nurse Educator, under the direction of the Director of Nursing Education and Professional Practice, demonstrates clinical expertise by incorporating nursing theory and evidence-informed practice. The Nurse Educator participates in the execution of the staff development programs that contribute to the professional growth and development of nursing staff. He/she establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with all disciplines and departments necessary to promote optimal patient outcomes and create a professional practice environment across the Concord Hospital Health System. The Nurse Educator promotes a just culture and a culture of safety. He/she demonstrates commitment to inclusivity and is positioned to be accessible to nursing clinicians in direct patient care. He/she is responsible for professional nursing practice and delivering quality patient care. The role requires competency in adult learning principles and a sound clinical nursing knowledge base. The Nurse Educator exhibits commitment to his/her ongoing professional development as an educator, including seeking feedback and experience across educational modalities, and development of debriefing skills. The Nurse Educator may contribute to educational programs across multiple disciplines and modalities to include didactics, low and high-fidelity simulation, debriefing, in situ simulation, and hands on skill training. The Nurse Educator may develop particular expertise in a specific educational modality or specialty and remains flexible across disciplines.
