About The Position

About the Role: The Nurse Clinic Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of DPHS primary care clinics to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position involves managing medical assistants, coordinating patient services, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies. The supervisor acts as a liaison between nursing personnel, physicians, and administrative teams to facilitate effective communication and workflow. They are responsible for implementing clinical protocols, monitoring performance metrics, and fostering a supportive environment that promotes professional development and patient safety. Ultimately, the Nurse Clinic Supervisor ensures that the clinic operates efficiently while upholding the highest standards of nursing practice and patient satisfaction. To that end, this position supports the clinic floor as needed.

Requirements

  • Current and valid LPN license in the Virginia.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient or clinic setting.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing practices, healthcare regulations, and patient care standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or equivalent.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare informatics.
  • Experience working with underserved populations, such as those experiencing homelessness.
  • Previous experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule nursing staff to ensure efficient clinic operations and quality patient care.
  • Support the development of nursing policies, procedures, and protocols in alignment with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Manage vaccine inventory and clinic supplies across all sites.
  • Monitor patient care delivery and address any issues related to clinical performance or patient safety.
  • Collaborate with physicians, healthcare providers, and administrative personnel to optimize patient flow and resource utilization.
  • Conduct staff training, performance evaluations, and provide mentorship to support professional growth and competency.
  • Manage scheduling, staffing levels, and workload distribution to meet clinic demands effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare laws, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and data analysis to enhance clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
