About The Position

Responsible for supervising and coordinating the provision of care across the medical center and managing the day-to-day operations in the absence of the Nurse Managers and the Medical Center Administration. Apply the American Nurses Association (ANA) Nursing Administration Scope and Standards of Practice, participate in planning activities to promote Magnet standards in the Nursing Services Department and enforce Joint Commission International (JCI) requirements. Support the mission and vision of the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) and that of the Department.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of modern principles and practices of hospital administration.
  • Knowledge of training and supervisory techniques.
  • Familiarity with Joint Commission International (JCI) requirements and Magnet standards.
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Lebanese Nursing Colloquium.
  • Nursing License from the Ministry of Public Health. Member of the Order of Nurses in Lebanon
  • Minimum Experience: 7 - 9 years of experience at AUBMC, 3 years are in clinical supervisory role or 9 - 12 years of experience in a similar healthcare setting, 3 years are in a clinical supervisory role
  • Minimum Languages: Arabic and English (EEE >/= 32)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Education: Master's degree in nursing or related field.
  • Preferred Languages: French is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Greet, receive, and create a positive experience for every patient/family by demonstrating a professional, caring, empathetic and friendly approach following the service excellence standards and guidelines.
  • Supervise and coordinate the provision of care across the Medical Center in the absence of the Nurse Managers and the Medical Center Administration.
  • Manage day-to-day operations across the Medical Center, ensuring efficient functioning.
  • Evaluate and ensure the delivery of quality patient care by conducting frequent rounds on all units, attending to emerging needs, investigating and solving problems as needed.
  • Investigate and report errors and incidents such as patient falls, medication errors, etc.
  • Ensure proper collaboration and coordination among interprofessional team members to facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Adjust staffing schedules and optimize staffing resources to maintain proper staffing levels on all nursing units.
  • Act as resource for healthcare providers for clinical problems and provide guidance when needed.
  • Ensure availability and maintenance of supplies and equipment to meet patient care needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
