Registered Nurse (RN) / Contract Administrator Location: Potter County Jail - Amarillo, TX Pay: $95k The Contract Administrator assures the quality of inmate patient management, monitoring continuity of care and cost effectiveness through case management and utilization review. This position will work under specialized supervision to assist in day-to-day health care monitoring of the contract health care provider on behalf of TK Health. The detention healthcare monitor shall collaborate with the contract health care provider, and the area hospitals to monitor adherence to the contract and monitor the delivery of quality health care services to inmates in the Potter County Jail. Expected Hours of Work This is a position in a setting that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holidays and work during inclement weather maybe be required. Essential Functions Assumes primary responsibility for ensuring the contract health care provider maintains compliance with ACA, NCCHC, PREA, ICE and minimum jail standards. Serves as day-to-day liaison between the contract health care provider and PCJ on issues pertaining to clinical operations and quality improvement. Monitors all inmate charts ensures they are up to date so that problems are designated, and treatment plans are accurately reflected as they occur. Serves as participating clinical liaison between jail health and public health programs, such as those related to infectious disease control and mental health. Monitors and assesses clinical contract compliance and performance of the contact health care provider for PCJ to include compliance with staffing levels against contractual commitments. Provides recommendations related to contract compliance and monitors the completion of accepted recommendations. Monitors contractor performance and regarding best practices for health care services. Participates in the evaluation and recommendation process on contract amendments as appropriate: Serves as liaison between the Health Department, other County and State health care agencies and the contracted health care provider. Participates in various county wide and internal committees addressing issues related to inmate medical services as assigned. Participates in Quality Improvement activities of the vendor contracted to provide inmate health services. Works with the contracted healthcare providers and PCJ to assure coordination of services and information between institutions as inmates move between PCJ and other facilities. Prepares reports for PCJ as requested. Investigates inmate clinical issues/concerns directed to PCJ Administration. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed. Identify and report significant clinical findings and documents appropriately. Provide PCJ and TK with monthly performance and compliance. Inform TK Health of unusual or potentially problematic inmate patient issues. Check on inmates that are admitted to an area hospital.
