Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3+ years of accounting or finance experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting theory and practice
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills

Responsibilities

  • Executes delivery of timely and accurate financial information, inclusive of recommendations, to Division, Area and Home Office personnel.
  • Assist NSS Controller to provide accurate, timely and efficient month-end close process for up to two Divisions/Areas, including providing input to Divisions.
  • Review, ensure accuracy, and provide feedback on journal entries completed by lower-level accountants, including inter-company, house close, and miscellaneous entries.
  • Analyze budget variance results and provide recommendations.
  • Compete assigned balance sheet account reconciliations, and review reconciliations performed by Staff Accountants.
  • Review fixed asset additions, disposals and transfers.
  • Analyze contingent job cost, working with Division Construction and Purchasing personnel to determine appropriate accounting reporting and action.
  • Prepare Hotel and Sales & Use Tax Returns and facilitates tax payment.
  • Facilitate in-house commissions payout and reporting.
  • Provide financial information to the NSS Controller related to internal and external audit requests.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts within the NSS General Ledger Team, and the collective NSS Department.
  • Attend required development training sessions as assigned throughout the year.
  • Other duties as assigned.
