The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Rutgers University invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position in Packaging Engineering. Candidates with expertise in the following areas are encouraged to apply: Automation and AI in the Circular Economy, Recyclable, and/or Bioinspired Packaging and Materials; Green Technologies; Sustainability and Product Life Cycle Analysis. The successful candidate is expected to have rich experiences in the applications of the areas listed above, in building industrial relations, and to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Packaging Engineering and related fields. The candidate is also expected to assist the current program in outreach activities and developing and maintaining industrial partnerships. Other responsibilities include advising undergraduate and graduate students and supervising student projects, activities, and organizations. Appointments may be made in one or more engineering departments based on the candidate's expertise and interests. While most positions are expected to be at the assistant professor level (tenure-track and teaching), consideration will also be given to more senior-level appointments, and all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
