About The Position

The Non-Emergency Medical Transport (NEMT) Dispatch is responsible for answering phone calls and assigning transportation trips in accordance with TransportUS contractual obligations. Dispatcher positions provide dispatch coverage primarily for San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, with periodic assignments extending to Los Angeles and Orange Counties. The NEMT Dispatch must be able to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. The role also involves maintaining records of all incidents that occur at the workplace. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of dispatch experience.
  • At least one year of customer service experience.
  • Valid California Driver's License with no major incidents within the last five years.
  • At least two years of experience working with Microsoft Outlook.
  • Must be able to fluently communicate in English (read, write, and speak).
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Must use two-way communications and monitor multiple video screens.
  • Must manage and direct multiple vehicles while on route.
  • Must be able to identify and assess information on computer screens, written reports, and documentation and relay to the team and/or clients.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending and reaching in areas from floor level to six feet high.
  • Requires the ability to distinguish letters or symbols and eye/hand coordination.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Candidates must be willing to work eight-hour shifts, although overtime is possible.
  • Candidates must have open availability (including weekends) and be able to work the day, night, and overnight shifts.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of experience in the transportation and Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) industry.
  • At least two years of dispatch experience.
  • At least two years of customer service experience.
  • Valid California Driver's License with a completely clean driving record.
  • At least two years of experience working with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate coverage for all NEMT transportation trips listed on our daily manifest.
  • Monitor and review video surveillance equipment.
  • Enforce policies and procedures.
  • Respond to Emails, Hospital Discharges, Add ons(New Trips).
  • Maintain records of all incidents that occur at the workplace.
  • Communicate effectively with other dispatchers/coordinators from other sites and drivers
  • Monitor public traffic and ensure FWY/HWY access for the drivers.
