About The Position

Under general supervision, the Nuclear Materials Control & Accountability (NMC&A) Specialist provides support to the NMC&A program, including item monitoring, processing of paperwork, data entry, accounting support, procedure revision and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a technical or administrative field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Requires proficient computer skills, such as but not limited to, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Adobe to process records and generate reports, charts, spreadsheets, and presentations
  • Working knowledge of project scheduling applications
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a “Q” level security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Preference given to candidates currently possessing a “Q” or “L” clearance
  • Previous experience in NMC&A program
  • Previous experience at NRC or DOE regulated site
  • BS-Science or Technical Education
  • Military Experience

Responsibilities

  • Enters nuclear material transaction receipts and related paperwork are properly entered into accounting records and reported
  • Revises and implements procedure changes in accordance with programmatic and management guidance as needed to support program needs
  • Revise the Fundamental Nuclear Material Control Plan (FNMCP) as directed by management to establish nuclear material safeguards for changing plant processes and configurations
  • Provides training on NMC&A topics per management direction
  • Prepares and reviews correspondence and data being sent to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Nuclear Materials Management and Safeguards System (NMMSS)
  • Input, track, and complete actions and subtasks in a corrective action tracking system
  • Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by management
