Night Owl
About The Position
The Night Owl is responsible for providing direct care for our dogs, as well as their health and safety while on-site, completing detailed cleaning projects and small group let outs throughout the night, resulting in exceptional customer service and high-quality pet care. This role involves daily operations such as morning set up of facilities, meal preparation and feeding dogs, and providing status reports to other shifts. It also includes interacting with clients for late drop-offs and pickups, performing janitorial duties like mopping, vacuuming, laundry, and sanitation of dog kennels. The Night Owl is expected to uphold Downtown Dog Lounge's Purpose and Core Values, communicate clearly, openly, honestly, and kindly, participate as part of the team, attend required trainings and All Team Meetings, and mentor new team members as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Comfortable working within close proximity to approximately 30 dogs in an enclosed park
- Desire to develop a thorough understanding of dog behavior
- Quick reaction time to unpredictable situations
- Comfortable working in a loud environment
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Comfortable standing for 8 hours at a time
- Able to lift 45 pounds
- Must be flexible and will be expected to be available to work weekends, evenings, and during holidays
Nice To Haves
- Previous professional experience working with dogs preferred (daycare, shelter, vet tech, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Live out and be a positive advocate for Downtown Dog Lounge’s safety culture
- Understand and uphold the Purpose and Core Values of the business in actions and words
- Morning set up of the facilities
- Meal preparation and feeding the dogs
- Feedback loop with other shifts and provide status reports
- Provide exceptional customer service, including transparent communication
- Interaction with clients when late drop-offs and pickups occur
- Clean up after dogs
- Janitorial duties, including mopping, vacuuming, laundry, etc.

- Communicate and participate as part of the team
- Attend periodic required trainings and All Team Meetings
- Mentor new team members as assigned
