About The Position

Magnolia Creek treats women with eating disorders who also struggle with co-occurring disorders. Our evidence-based methods take a whole-person approach to achieve recovery. Magnolia Creek is peacefully situated on thirty-six wooded acres. The property has a private lake, walking trails, outdoor therapy areas, a firepit, and recovery garden. Our residents live in a comfortable, home-like environment where they feel safe and supported. The Recovery Care Specialist promotes clients’ involvement in the treatment program. Recovery Care Specialists assist clients in various clinical, nutritional and administrative activities as directed, to ensure optimal client outcome. Columbiana is commutable from Shelby, Calera, Chelsea, Montevallo, Alabaster, Pelham, and commute is against traffic from Birmingham area.

Requirements

Position requires a 3 + years of related experience.
Position requires incumbent to have a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience with eating disorders is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Supports orientation and training for newly hired Psychiatric Technicians.
Provides coaching and guidance to Psychiatric Technicians, as needed and requested.
Ensures client rounding and safety checks are completed according to clinical criteria; staffs rounding throughout the shift ensuring team members receive rest and meal breaks in compliance with staffing plans and employment law.
Actively engages clients in therapeutic activities in the milieu and outside activities throughout the workday, often in a variety of group settings.
Prompts clients to complete ADLs, including clean room, hygiene, laundry, etc., and completes regular room hygiene checks.
Prompts clients to attend all meals in a timely manner and provides supervision and structure at mealtimes as appropriate.
Modifies approach to client interactions based on client needs, to include recognizing mood changes and treatment progress, while.
Documents services provided, incident reports, shift reports, or department reports in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with policies and procedures.
Communicates and adheres to clinical precautions effectively, including visual safety checks; proactively reports safety risks.
Coordinates necessary healthcare visits for clients based on their individual needs and ensuring timely access to medical services, in collaboration with nursing.
Ensures necessary office materials are consistently available for staff use to include monitoring inventory levels, placing orders when needed, and organizing storage efficiently.
Oversees the overall therapeutic environment, maintaining order, promoting safety, and optimizing the well-being of residents.
Supports medication compliance and management by prompting residents to go to nursing for medications.
Facilitates program admissions, assisting with the process for new clients while ensuring a smooth transition into the facility.
Provides on-call leadership and availability to include addressing emergencies, answering questions, and ensuring continuity of care.
