About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a full‑time NICU Dietitian to join the Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Children’s Hospital at Erlanger in Chattanooga, TN. This 58‑bed, high‑acuity NICU cares for extremely premature infants—some born as early as 22–24 weeks—supported by a comprehensive team of pediatric medical and surgical specialists. Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian credential and experience in pediatrics and/or NICU, preferred
  • Licensure in the state of TN, or ability to obtain
  • Excellent communication skills and have the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Creative problem-solving skills, can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work within a self-directed and team-oriented work environment
  • Strong focus on driving outstanding patient satisfaction results and driving process improvement activities
  • Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire. In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire
  • 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Dietitian credential and experience in pediatrics and/or NICU, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and monitor/evaluate patient care outcomes on an ongoing basis; perform nutrition-focused physical exams and nutrition education
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary rounding
  • Involved in quality improvement projects
  • Precept dietetic interns
  • Participate in departmental, clinical, and other meetings related to areas of practice
