About The Position

Next Generation Radioisotope Thermal Generator (NGRTG) program IPT lead on the Power Systems and RocketWorks organization responsible for management of suppliers responsible for the key power conversion technology. The organization’s target of growth in the area of Radioisotope Power Systems (RPS) programs will allow for future opportunities for career advancement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with and managing suppliers, procurement, manufacturing, and integration in relation to space systems.
  • Experience with program planning, IMS development, risk and opportunity analysis, work package development, and program execution.
  • Experience, managing, bidding and developing space systems for DoD, DoE, NASA and/or commercial applications.
  • Working knowledge of radioisotope thermoelectric generator design and fabrication
  • Experience leading proposals and development of cost volumes
  • Ability to scope diverse technology program efforts and manage them through completion
  • Proven ability to utilize oral and written communication skills to build successful teams, presentation skills appropriate for executive-level briefings
  • Proficient in the use of all the basic MS Office tools and therefore be proficient in computer operating systems, MS Outlook, MS Excel (entering formulas, graphing, developing spreadsheets), MS PowerPoint (presentations, storyboard development, logic diagrams), MS Visio (business diagrams and sketches), and MS Word (tables, program plans), Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in excel with the ability to understand, edit, and implement and/or perform the life prediction performance analysis for thermoelectric generators

Responsibilities

  • Manage execution of Teledyne Energy Systems Inc. (TESI) and RGS Development BV for Unicouple and electrical heater fabrication including performance, schedule, cost, quality and earned value associated to achieve program objectives and delivery milestones
  • Prepare presentations to suppliers, customers, and internal management including project status, risk management, issues resolution, schedule and cost performance.
  • Lead implementation of the schedule and cost elements for the NGRTG Phase III proposal related to Teledyne Energy Systems Inc. and RGS
  • Actively mentor employees and cultivating a sense of urgency through teamwork and by example
  • Shape, bid, capture new technology contracts by authoring presentations and papers at customers or conferences
  • Support of company internal research and development (IR&D) tasks and pursue and capture new business opportunities related to Radioisotope Power Systems, with support from Business Development.
  • Travel to customers and suppliers to support program objectives - At least 4 quarterly trips to TESI and 1 trip to RGS. Additional travel as required during key manufacturing, quality buy-off and to address major anomalies
  • Travel to conferences to establish relationships with customers and suppliers, shape opportunities, present papers, and understand the current state of industry
  • Ability to obtain a US Secret clearance
