British American Household StaffingNew York, NY

About The Position

A warm, private family in New York City is seeking an experienced and caring Newborn Care Specialist to support them as they welcome their first child in mid-March 2026. This role offers the opportunity to provide expert, evidence-based newborn care while helping create a nurturing, well-organized environment during this precious early phase. The engagement begins with an initial 3-month contract with a 20/7 schedule, focused on the newborn period, with strong potential to grow into a meaningful long-term infant nanny role through 18-24 months for the right person. The family is looking for someone who is calm, confident, and highly experienced—a trusted professional who can work independently within a private household while respecting the family's rhythms, privacy, and security needs. This position is ideal for someone who finds fulfillment in working seamlessly alongside a family, providing exceptional care with a gentle, unobtrusive presence. The family prefers gentle sleep shaping approaches (no cry-it-out). During the first 30 days the mother and child will not leave the home, and the ideal candidate will have experience as a Doula and will be willing to participate in care and recovery of the mother, though this is not required. The family is willing to provide separate accommodations outside of the family's home, if the candidate is not local to NYC.
