About The Position

The New-Vehicle Salesperson is responsible for selling new automobiles in accordance with dealership gross profit, volume, and customer satisfaction standards. This role requires compliance with all applicable legal and ethical standards governing automotive sales.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous sales experience preferred; automotive sales experience is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • State-mandated sales license
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and match them with appropriate products.
  • Basic proficiency in mathematics for pricing, financing, and commissions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, reports, and sales materials.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education in business or marketing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed monthly vehicle sales targets.
  • Assist customers with vehicle selection, product features, pricing, and financing options.
  • Conduct test drives in accordance with dealership policy.
  • Complete accurate sales paperwork and process transactions in line with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and participate in required training.
  • Collaborate with sales, finance, and service departments to ensure a smooth customer experience.
  • Ensure all sold vehicles are prepared for delivery and that customers understand vehicle features, warranties, and maintenance schedules.
  • Attend sales meetings and report on performance metrics.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
