We are excited to launch MWH's Inaugural Transition to Practice Program (New Grad Nurse Residency) for Late Summer 2026! The program is open to newly licensed nurses who either are graduating with a BSN or ASN degree this Spring or have recently graduated and are pursuing a Practice Transition Program in an acute care setting. Tufts Medicine Melrose Wakefield Hospital's Transition to Practice Program has been developed following the guidelines for Transition to Practice Programs outlined by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs. ANCC sets the global standard for programs supporting newly licensed nurses. This inaugural cohort will lead MWH to ANCC Accreditation by early 2028. This 1-year program includes: Structured unit-based orientation (8-12 weeks for adult medical, specialties provide longer orientation) Live interactive classes every two months supplemented by flexible asynchronous online learning Structured debriefing Structured mentorship Immersion in evidence-based practice and narrative nursing To be considered, you must complete an online application and attach your resume, a cover letter and indicate your top two specialties/units. We are offering placements in Adult Medical, Emergency Department, and Mother-Infant Unit for this session. Timeline: Conducting interviews in May 2026! Decisions will be announced: Beginning of June 2026! A program start date of August 17, 2026!
