This position performs research, development, calculations, design and delivery in partnership with the project team. Applies engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity. Leverages technical knowledge to assist in the execution and evaluation of project designs. Develops conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support the project execution using current drawing and technical tools, programs and software. Our Boston and Chelmsford, Massachusetts offices are seeking New Grad Engineers within the Structures group for Summer 2026. As a New Grad Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design and analysis of various structural elements and systems. Working closely with experienced design engineers, you will contribute to the development of safe, reliable, and sustainable structures. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated New Grad to apply their technical knowledge, develop practical skills, and contribute to the success of complex construction projects. Specific tasks performed by our New Grad Structural Engineers include: Assist in the design and analysis of structural elements and systems, including bridges, retaining walls, and other infrastructure projects. Collaborate with senior engineers to evaluate project requirements, constraints, and design criteria. Utilize structural analysis software such as MDX, LEAP Bridge, CSiBridge or similar tools to perform structural calculations and verify design integrity. Support the preparation of design drawings, project estimates, specifications, and construction documents. Conduct site visits and surveys to gather data, assess existing conditions, and evaluate design alternatives. Assist in the development of design reports and technical documentation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including roadway, traffic, drainage, utility, and geotechnical engineers to ensure seamless integration of structural design elements. Stay updated on industry codes, regulations, and best practices related to structural design. Contribute to quality control processes, including reviewing design calculations, plans, and specifications. Participate in design review meetings and provide support to project teams as needed.
