This opportunity entails being responsible for assisting assigned department(s) and/or project(s) by performing basic engineering related tasks which may reflect elements of standard post-secondary engineering curriculum. As Structural Intern Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design and analysis of various structural elements and systems. Working closely with experienced design engineers, you will contribute to the development of safe, reliable, and sustainable structures. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Intern to apply their technical knowledge, develop practical skills, and contribute to the success of complex construction projects. Specific tasks performed by our Structural Intern Engineers include: Assist in the design and analysis of structural elements and systems, including bridges, retaining walls, and other infrastructure projects. Collaborate with senior engineers to evaluate project requirements, constraints, and design criteria. Utilize structural analysis software such as MDX, LEAP Bridge, CSiBridge , or similar tools to perform structural calculations and verify design integrity. Support the preparation of design drawings, project estimates, specifications, and construction documents. Conduct site visits and surveys to gather data, assess existing conditions, and evaluate design alternatives. Assist in the development of design reports and technical documentation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including roadway, traffic, drainage, utility and geotechnical engineers , to ensure seamless integration of structural design elements. Stay updated on industry codes, regulations, and best practices related to structural design. Contribute to quality control processes, including reviewing design calculations, plans, and specifications. Participate in design review meetings and provide support to project teams as needed. The position is based out of our Boston and Chelmsford Offices. Relocation and housing are NOT provided for these positions.
