About The Position

The Engineering Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for leading a variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition and deployment of hardware, software and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead efforts to ensure quality standards are being met within existing and planned framework. As a Network Engineer you'll provide solutions across the company's datacenters and global colocation estate across the world encompassing all aspects related to collocation sites: site access, equipment procurement, logistics, capacity management (power, space, servers, network ports, etc.), performance management, service availability, connectivity, compute and market data delivery. You will architect, engineer and deploy ultra low/Low latency network infrastructure including overseeing and carrying-out installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, optimization and documentation of all network hardware, security hardware, software and connectivity. You will also get involved with managing\participating in multiple projects and be responsible for configuring / optimizing the network to ensure ultra low/low latency is achieved for intraday trading and direct market access systems, providing exchange, broker and managed service providers connectivity to support market data delivery and order execution.

Requirements

6-10 years of relevant experience in an Engineering role
Experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment
Project Management experience
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices
Demonstrated analytic/diagnostic skills
Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams
Ability to work independently, prioritize, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
Proven track record of operational process change and improvement
15+ years plus experience (we prefer experienced, disciplined and mature candidates)
Strong Network engineering and project delivery experience
Advanced knowledge of routing and switching protocols; Experience with Unicast: EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, NAT, IPSEC and GRE
Experience with Multicast: PIM, RP, MSDP, IGMP v2, v3
Experience with Switching: STP, PC/vPC/MLAG, CDP/LLDP, QoS, HSRP/VRRP, VLAN/VxLAN, Spine and Leaf infrastructures.
In-depth experience with Cisco Nexus network switching, routing hardware and software
Strong Experience working with Global Financial Exchanges for both tick data and FIX order flow.
Knowledge of network monitoring PCAP decoding tools landscape (Corvil, SFlow, timestamping (PTP) preferred but not required)
Knowledge of Algorithmic/DMA/HFT and trading platforms and how the trade lifecycle operates
Solid understanding of market venue, exchange protocols (binary, FIX, ITCH,OUCH, Pillar, etc.) and trading systems across multiple asset classes
Strong scripting and automation experience (Python preferred but not required)
Excellent communication skills; ability to perform under pressure and detail oriented

Responsibilities

Serve as a technology subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders and provide direction for all firm mandated controls and compliance initiatives, all projects within the group and in creating a technology domain roadmap
Ensure that all integration of functions meet business goals
Define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process enhancements
Recommend product customization for system integration
Identify problem causality, business impact and root causes
Exhibit knowledge of how own specialty area contributes to the business and apply knowledge of competitors, products and services
Advise or mentor junior team members
Impact the engineering function by influencing decisions through advice, counsel or facilitating services
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
