About The Position

This Network Technician role involves working closely with the Network Team to perform proactive network monitoring and provide first-level support for network incidents during the night shift. Key responsibilities include basic troubleshooting, escalating issues to the network team within specified SLAs, and maintaining communication until resolution. The technician will also participate in network issue resolution, perform network audits, and occasionally support the network team with project execution during night change windows. This position requires adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), a strong sense of responsibility, a passion for networks, and a desire for continuous learning. The role also entails working proactively with Network Engineers and Cable Technicians on incident prevention and service restoration, configuring network equipment, and replacing faulty hardware under the Network Team's guidance. The technician will act as a buddy check for network engineers during night change windows and provide occasional extended hours support during high project seasons and site maintenance days. Effective communication with team members and management, creation of daily pass-down reports, and updating management systems are also essential.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of Network Help Desk or Network Technician experience
  • Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) certification or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Comp TIA A+ certification
  • Some experience with VLANs, Subnetting, IP addresses, Ethernet cables, fiber optic cables, SSH, telnet, traceroute, optical transceivers, hubs, switches
  • Must live within 1 hour from north Austin, TX (Due to required SLA)
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio
  • Ability to work well within a team and mentoring other network technicians
  • Strong sense of responsibility
  • Able to occasionally lift equipment up to 40lb
  • Able to occasionally wear a complete cleanroom smock inside an electronic semiconductor facility

Nice To Haves

  • CCNA certification or 3 years of experience in a network technician role
  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Experience with switch configuration, IP subnetting, network troubleshooting
  • Bilingual Korean

Responsibilities

  • Actively perform network monitoring
