About The Position

Develops, executes and evaluates IT Infrastructure, multi-site local-area network (LAN), wide-area network (WAN) and wireless network systems and engineering processes; performs technical analyses and provides specific systems engineering support; deploys systems, creates and evaluates systems requirements, and implements quality assurance and evaluation activities. Participates in formulating an enterprise network strategy with senior/executive IT management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT-Networking related degree from an accredited college or university; supplemented by six (6) to eight (8) years of experience in network system administration, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in technical and business terms, verbally and written
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues, involving firewalls, routers, switches, WLAN and network applications
  • Knowledge of in troubleshooting and supporting enterprise level networks
  • Extensive knowledge of data and network security, internet protocols, and communication protocols
  • Knowledge and in-depth understanding of how business and technical processes integrate
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time

Nice To Haves

  • Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certifications preferred.
  • Experience with Data Center DR (disaster Recovery) design and operations

Responsibilities

  • Composes and maintains network documentation, such as topology diagrams, circuit/equipment inventories and configuration reports
  • Performs network capacity planning and performance analyses to properly size network connections
  • Implements architectures based on best practices and in compliance with security and corporate guidelines
  • Performs installation, configuration and support of corporate networking hardware, and Infrastructure related technologies
  • Act as primary point of contact for data network incidents, event management including investigation, troubleshooting, reporting, resolution, root-cause analysis and corrective action management
  • Participates in IT related projects; independently or as a member of a cross-functional project team
  • Provides advanced technical support to customer and internal teams accordingly on product functionality, network designs, and complex network systems
  • Collaborates with internal IT personnel, business personnel, vendors and management teams to deliver reliable network communications and functions
  • Measures and meets and/or exceeds appropriate service levels with the business
  • Acts as the primary technical mentor for the network team; to include setting up network labs, real or virtual; proof of concept configurations, change control testing, and learning opportunities in a non-production, sandboxed environment
  • Performs on-call responsibilities and after hours duties as necessary.
