The Defense Sector, Decision Advantage Business Area at Leidos is offering a unique opportunity for a Network specialist to support a critical Air Force network system. As the prime contractor, Leidos will drive performance optimization in achieving mission outcomes through efficient design, build, fielding and transition-to-operations. This is a remote position and will require some travel. You will be working with a team of multi-disciplined engineers, cyber security engineers and officers, quality engineers, and architects and perform systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance to support the successful delivery of the TACMOR network services. You will ensure strong systems engineering processes are followed throughout the requirements, analysis, design, build, integrate, test and deploy to operations phases.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in IT, Electrical engineering or other engineering discipline, with 2 or more years of prior relevant experience or Masters with prior relevant experience.
  • Additional directly related experience can offset the degree requirement.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain after start date.
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Network certifications such as Network+, Security+, CCNA or CCNP or the ability to obtain a minimum of 1 of the listed cretifications within 180 days from start date.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with customer representatives, domain experts, and other IT specialists, cyber, and systems engineers in the development of complex DoD systems.
  • Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
  • Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to travel OCONUS when needed by the program.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing, installing and configuring new networks.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Knowledge of ATOs and required security controls for DoD networks.
  • Experience with designing network solutions, implementing and configuring network designs, supporting and maintaining network solutions.
  • Experience with designing, specifying and configuring OSI Model Layer 2 and Layer 3 network configurations using multiple L2 and L3 switching and routing protocols and standards.
  • Experience developing request for quotes, performing trade studies, researching vendors, and recommending technical solutions based on in-depth analysis.
  • Previous experience working with cyber teams to gain ATOs.
  • Experience with DISA circuits and networks.
  • Experience with DoD systems.
  • Cisco Certified specialist, Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCNE, Network+, Security+ or equivalent certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform network engineering tasks that involve researching, evaluating, planning, designing, engineering, configuring and delivering the TACMOR network services project.
  • Produce assigned work products, deliverables, and engineering documentation.
  • Support integration and testing activities both CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Develop designs and participate in design reviews with the customer.
  • Provide specialized network engineering support to the TACMOR Network project and a secure communications and data transfer network from a new Air Force mission system located OCONUS.
  • Responsible for providing network expertise for new installs and tech refreshes that require engineering and security architecture design, integration and install, test, and deploy to operations.
  • Sustain secure communications operational data transfer between various CONUS and OCONUS sites with security adequate to protect information at the SECRET level; designing, installing, administering, and maintaining secure communications capabilities between existing and new sites; and, providing Operations and Maintenance (O&M) documentation and training.
