About The Position

Collectively responsible for highest level or privileged access to the circuits and network devices that comprise the Shelter network, including firewalls and load balancers, security systems and devices, and all circuits such as WAN/MPLS, internet, replication, and SIP trunks. Daily work frequently involves critical infrastructure and data/configuration that is replicated off-site for disaster recovery purposes. Design, implement, and monitor network systems related to: Network routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, WIFI systems, Circuits: WAN/MPLS, internet, replication, SIP, Network VPN's. Complete day-to-day administration, monitoring and maintenance related to routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, packet shapers, wireless systems, and circuits. Conduct complex troubleshooting and repair tasks on network at a detailed level by device. Work closely with Security to select, implement, and maintain Security related systems and address Security related incidents/events. Assure off-site disaster recovery environment is consistently available and participate in semi-annual disaster recovery testing Maintain infrastructure of a variety of IT Security systems and perform considerable work in the development and implementation of workflows and data integration/transformations associated with those systems. Manage VPN’s used by employees and agents while monitoring systems to alert on potential issues related to internal network and external circuits. Work with circuit providers to assure circuits are installed, terminated, and maintained as needed. Participate in various reviews and audits (ex: PCI compliance, pen tests, security exercises). Participate in capacity planning ensuring that our systems have the necessary capacity to meet strategic business needs with few or no reliability issues. Work with 3rd Party Vendors as needed to procure hardware and software solutions, as well as addressing updates and issues after implementation.

Requirements

  • Ability to be a subject matter expert for new and existing technologies.
  • Ability to train peers on technology, take on a leadership role, and work with management.
  • Familiarity supporting Security initiatives and implementing Security best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be capable of tactical planning and initiative.
  • Ability to maintain various network systems, hardware and software technologies as indicated above, with some assistance from peers.
  • Scripting and automation experience.
  • Familiarity with single data center network with disaster recovery site.
  • Windows Server, Linux and Mac OS system administration familiarity.
  • Familiarity with most of the following and proven experience with a combination of the following: Network monitoring systems (ex: Solarwinds) Sniffer/packet capture tools (ex: Wireshark) SSH and Telnet client and terminal emulator program (ex: SecureCRT) Governance, Risk and Compliance assessments, PCI compliance and audits, or other assessments and audits DNS Contracts, implementations, terminations, and maintenance of Circuits from various circuit providers.
  • Proven analytical skills in all areas of responsibility.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills in all areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
