About The Position

The Federal Civilian IT Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Network Engineer to work in our Huntsville, Alabama office at the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the AEGIS contract mission. In this mission we provide NASA state of the art design, engineering, configuration, testing and documentation of network architectures and configurations including routers, switches, network management tools and other information technology products in a multi-vendor, multi-protocol environment. A successful candidate will serve as a Network Engineer III in the AEGIS Wide Area Network Engineering Group. Primary Responsibilities Job responsibilities will include: Designing, engineering, configuration, testing and documentation of network architectures and configurations including routers, switches, network management tools and other information technology products in a multi-vendor, multi-protocol environment. The candidate will develop cost estimates and detailed designs for corporate network routed data and corporate custom routed data layer 3 services as well as dedicated voice and data services. Candidate must be capable of supporting project teams in design and implementation of enterprise WAN services and campus or institutional networks. Other duties will include participation in design reviews and requirements analysis.

Requirements

  • Requires Bachelors degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral and written skills and be able to present technical information in formal presentations to both internal and external customers.
  • The candidate must have a concrete working knowledge of routed data protocols and hardware platforms.
  • Candidate must have a working knowledge also of Juniper and Cisco routers and switches and platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • CCNA and/or JNCIA highly desired.
