SAIC is excited to announce an Engineering role on the Network Information Technology Enterprise Services (NITES) supporting our government customer NORAD NORTHCOM in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This position is on-site and prime aligned. SAIC seeks an engineering technical expert to bring value to the customer through alignment with the NITES contractors and ongoing emerging deep technical solutions. This position will require technical long-range planning with short-term functional solutions to reach broad DoD mandates. This position builds on common cyber enablement requiring touch labor and thought driven integration through enterprise engineering steering groups. Requirements and Skills: As a NITES Engineer you will support the customers’ various Wide Area Networks (WANs) and local area networks (LANs). This position will serve as the lead Engineer to a team of Operate and Maintain (O&M) technicians in the Network Operations team and act as the Senior role to interface with the Engineering Team. Duties of Tier II & III O&M Network Engineer are as follows: Tier III O&M of Juniper and Cisco routers include extensive troubleshooting at the layer 2 and layer 3 level and implementation of routing changes. Implementation of routing and troubleshooting issues related to the following protocols\: OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VRF’s, VPN’s Support technical exchange meetings to help resolve other ISP and application owner issues. Support problem management to conduct root cause analysis of recurring issues. Provide day-to-day Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support for incident management events and outages. Candidate will be on call after hours on a rotational basis. Not required but experience with Palo Alto, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), and Forcepoint firewall equipment and applications is a plus. As a NITES Engineer you will support the NITES commitment to a Cyber aligned environment focused on common Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) cyber practices. This position will serve as the bridge to a team of NITES Engineers. Duties of the Cyber focused role of a NITES Engineer include but are not limited too: Display a moderate understanding of the cyclical nature of Risk Management Framework in the context of DoW implementation Understanding of various types of Risk as applicable to multifaceted projects Ability to clearly articulate complex technology and artifacts Align concepts of work being performed to organizational goals Prioritize multiple projects and division of labor among different teams Explain a continual improvement change process in an enterprise environment Familiarization supporting multiple agencies with competing priorities

Requirements

  • Required Clearance: TS with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Cyber, IT Business preferred and 9 years of experience or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • Must comply with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 Certification (i.e. Security+).
  • Certified Cisco Network Associate (CCNA) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • CCNP is highly preferred
  • Experience with military or coalition air domain operations and communications systems
  • Familiarity with DoD architecture frameworks and system acquisition lifecycle
  • Prior experience supporting joint or coalition DoD networks.
  • Strong system documentation, diagramming, and technical leadership skills
