About The Position

The Senior Network Administrator manages, maintains, and secures enterprise network infrastructure for a Department of Defense (DoD) client. This role ensures network reliability, performance, and compliance with DoD standards, serving as a senior escalation point for complex network issues. Essential functions . Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems on close restricted network. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex connectivity, routing, and security issues. Implement, manage, and maintain VLANs, VPNs, and other network segmentation techniques. Apply and enforce network security measures to comply with DoD cybersecurity standards. Develop and maintain network documentation, standard operating procedures, and diagrams. Ensure compliance with DoD IT policies, security standards, and operational procedures.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise network architectures, including LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and wireless.
  • Experience with network security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access controls.
  • Proficiency with network monitoring tools and performance analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to mentor junior network staff.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.
  • High school Diploma or equivalent with 5-8 years of experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Cisco CCNA certification or higher

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in informational technology or similar discipline
  • Prior experience supporting DoD and/or Federal government customers
  • MD-102 certification
