About The Position

MARS Solutions Group is looking for an experienced Network Engineer located in Milwaukee, WI. Our client is a government agency looking for high-quality talent to make a difference. They are known to respect a traditional work week and often extend contracts for added job security and stability.   Note: The position is on-site. Candidate MUST be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role at their own expense. Requirements

  • 5 years or more of experience in the below:
  • Advanced Bridging and routing integration technologies
  • Trouble shooting LANs, WANs, and wireless
  • Proficient Firewall, ACLs, business to business access, Remote access
  • Network design

Responsibilities

  • Design and architect enterprise-level network solutions including LAN, WAN, wireless, and data center networks
  • Implement and configure advanced routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS)
  • Deploy and manage network security solutions including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems
  • Plan and execute network upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime
  • Monitor network performance and optimize for reliability, speed, and security
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Maintain network documentation including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with service providers
  • Implement network security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Conduct network security assessments and vulnerability testing
  • Respond to security incidents and implement remediation measures
  • Stay current with emerging security threats and mitigation strategies
  • Lead network infrastructure projects from conception to completion
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior network engineers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems, security, and application teams
