About The Position

This role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), where we’re developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin’s mission. Enterprise Technology is the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin, providing oversight and governance to align technology and business strategies. As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, engineers, you will directly support the network engineering environment for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the teams' impact on all aspects of networking from the enterprise core to the access layers of the industrial and corporate networks. You must have a passion for solving complex and interesting problems, adapting as needed to better this unique environment by working towards improving the network by way of scripting and automation. The Network Engineer is a member of the information technology department and reports directly to the Senior Manager of Network Engineering. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Requirements

  • 3+ years of recent and contiguous experience as a minimum of a mid-level network engineer
  • 3+ years of direct routing and switching experience with the Juniper platform
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with network automation or scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible, REST APIs, Netconf/Restconf, or similar)
  • Experience using version control and collaboration tools (e.g., Git, code review platforms) to manage network configuration changes as code
  • Experience working in an Agile environment (e.g., Scrum or Kanban), including participation in sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives
  • Ability to design and implement repeatable, automated workflows for common network tasks (configuration deployment, validation, compliance, and change management)
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Networking, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Travel up to 30% of the time to support the enterprise
  • Must be able to lift equipment up to 30 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • CCNA, JNCIA, JNCIS or higher certification
  • Experience with wireless networking in both corporate and industrial environments with the Aruba platform
  • Experience supporting Palo Alto in an industrial and enterprise network
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD concepts for network changes (e.g., automated testing/validation, templating, and policy compliance)
  • Experience developing and maintaining reusable automation artifacts (scripts, playbooks, templates, and modules) and related documentation
  • Experience integrating network monitoring, telemetry, and logging with automation workflows to enable proactive detection and remediation
  • Experience collaborating with software, systems, and cybersecurity teams in an Agile setting to deliver end‑to-end solutions
