We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer II to join our team for a 6-month onsite engagement with our Endurance client. This role requires a strong technical foundation in networking, with expertise spanning Layer 2 through Layer 7, advanced routing protocols, firewall management, wireless technologies, and Network Access Control (NAC) solutions.

  • Design and implement advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 configurations to ensure high availability and optimal performance across enterprise environments.
  • Configure and maintain dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP) and redundant gateway solutions (HSRP, VRRP, GLBP) for resilient network operations.
  • Deploy and manage firewall policies, NAT configurations, and access controls to safeguard network traffic and enforce security standards.
  • Oversee wireless infrastructure by tuning Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) settings, optimizing RF design, and troubleshooting coverage and roaming issues for seamless connectivity.
  • Implement and maintain Network Access Control (NAC) solutions, including device profiling and role-based access policies, to strengthen endpoint security.
  • Collaborate on network segmentation strategies using VRFs and assist with introductory BGP and MPLS configurations for multi-tenant environments.
  • Monitor network performance, analyze logs, and proactively resolve issues to minimize downtime and enhance user experience.
  • Participate in change control processes, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to design reviews for network projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers by providing technical guidance and supporting knowledge transfer within the team.
  • In-depth understanding of Layer 2 switching and strong knowledge of Layer 3–7 networking
  • Expertise in routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Proficiency in firewall concepts (stateful inspection, NAT, ACLs)
  • Intermediate-level experience with Wi-Fi technologies and WLC configuration
  • Familiarity with NAC solutions (Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass, or similar)
  • Basic understanding of advanced topics such as VRFs, BGP, MPLS
  • Advanced VLAN design and trunking
  • EtherChannel / LACP configuration
  • Advanced STP tuning (PortFast, BPDU Guard, Root Guard)
  • Inter-VLAN routing and redundant gateways
  • Introductory VRF and route leaking concepts
  • Firewall concepts (stateful inspection, NAT, ACLs)
  • Application layer troubleshooting (DNS, DHCP, HTTP, HTTPS)
  • QoS basics (classification, marking, queuing)
  • WLC configuration and management
  • RF design principles (channel planning, power levels, interference)
  • Authentication and security (WPA2/3, 802.1X, RADIUS)
  • Wireless site survey basics
  • Troubleshooting roaming, coverage, and throughput issues
  • Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass, or similar platforms
  • Device profiling and posture assessment
  • Role-based access policies and VLAN assignment
