About The Position

In the role as Information Security Analyst I you will help our team bring the next round of stories to life on the United Center campus. Ready to take center stage? The Network Engineer II will manage a complex campus network encompassing broadcast-focused LAN, WAN, wireless, and security systems. In this role, you will ensure reliable connectivity for live productions and events while supporting all broadcast network operations. You will also collaborate with the Event Support Group to seamlessly integrate network and broadcast infrastructure for major events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Broadcast Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of network experience with a focus on broadcast environments.
  • Experience with SMPTE 2110, video-over-IP, and High-Density Wireless installations
  • Proven experience managing live production networks and media transport systems.
  • Competence in Broadcast and IT network integration.

Nice To Haves

  • SMPTE 2110 Suite of Standards is preferred.
  • CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or equivalent broadcast IT certifications are nice to have.
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner (or equivalent cloud networking certification) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the design, installation, configuration and maintenance of all network switching, routing, wireless hardware, and remote connectivity, ensuring both broadcast and IT security.
  • Provide real-time troubleshooting for live sports broadcasts and ensure seamless video-over-IP transmission workflows.
  • Monitor and diagnose performance issues across broadcast workflows, including SMPTE 2210, NDI, SRT, and Dante.
  • Define, document, and enforce broadcast and IT network standards.
  • Stay current with industry advancements through ongoing training and certifications.
  • Act as liaison between vendors, consultants, and business partners to ensure broadcast network requirements are met.
  • Support high-profile live broadcasts by managing third-party service providers, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring transmission reliability through redundancy testing and disaster recovery planning.
