SUMMARY Performs hands-on vulnerability remediation, firmware and operating system upgrades, and secure configuration hardening across network infrastructure, including wired and wireless platforms. Ensures changes are executed through formal change control, validated where applicable, and measured against program metrics and service level agreement reporting.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of direct, hands-on network engineering experience, including firmware upgrades and production change execution.
  • Demonstrated experience applying network hardening configurations and validating operational impact.
  • Familiarity with Qualys Vulnerability Management reporting and validation processes.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection is required for all remote/hybrid positions.
  • Must have access to stable Wi-Fi with sufficient bandwidth to support video conferencing, cloud-based tools, and other online work-related activities.
  • A HIPAA-compliant work environment is required, including a secure workspace free from unauthorized access or interruptions, no use of public Wi-Fi unless connected through a secure company-provided VPN, and compliance with all applicable HIPAA privacy and security regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospital information technology experience strongly preferred; broader healthcare experience preferred.
  • Certifications highly desirable: Cisco Certified Network Associate, Cisco Certified Network Professional, Juniper Networks Certified Associate, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Review Qualys Vulnerability Management findings and vendor advisories for network devices; define remediation approach including firmware upgrades, operating system updates, and configuration hardening.
  • Execute device upgrades and changes in production change windows with strong pre-check and post-check discipline.
  • Implement network hardening standards including secure management access, removal of weak protocols, logging posture, credential management alignment, and segmentation policy support.
  • Validate service health post-change and execute rollback where required; document outcomes and evidence.
  • Maintain metrics for remediation throughput, upgrade success rate, vulnerability aging, and repeat findings; support service level agreement reporting.
