About The Position

As a Network Control Technician supporting the Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE), you’ll be at the center of maintaining and securing the Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN). This network underpins enterprise-wide modeling and simulation capabilities that prepare warfighters for real-world missions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience
  • OR Master’s degree in a related field (no experience required)
  • OR High school diploma/equivalent and 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, hardware, and security principles
  • Experience implementing DoD cybersecurity compliance (STIGs, RMF, ACAS)
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows OS and/or Cisco network environments
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical documentation
  • Active CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent IAT Level II certification)
  • Must hold a current or active DoD Secret Security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as Linux+, Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE), or Cisco (CCNA/CCNP)
  • Experience supporting DoD simulation or training environments
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Exposure to scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Python)
  • Experience with ticketing systems and ITIL-based service management

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Windows desktop and server environments (WIN10 SHB, Server 2016/2019)
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Implement and maintain systems in compliance with DoD STIGs and cybersecurity best practices
  • Perform patch management for Microsoft servers and workstations
  • Monitor network performance using tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, or similar
  • Maintain VPN and LAN/WAN connectivity across distributed systems
  • Create and maintain network documentation, including diagrams and operational instructions
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support simulation and training environments
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and customer-focused support
