About The Position

DNI is seeking a Network Cable Technician to provide structured cabling installation, testing, and support services for Operational Technology (OT) networks across multiple Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC) locations. This role supports enterprise network expansion efforts by installing, terminating, labeling, and testing network cabling infrastructure in compliance with DoD, Air Force, and industry standards. The technician will operate from Robins AFB, GA, with travel to Tinker AFB, OK and Hill AFB, UT as required.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in structured cabling installation (Cat5e/6/6a and/or fiber).
  • Experience with cable termination, testing, and certification tools (e.g., Fluke testers).
  • Knowledge of TIA/EIA structured cabling standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret network diagrams, floor plans, and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with cable management best practices and labeling standards.
  • Ability to work in industrial, warehouse, and secure environments.
  • Active or ability to obtain a secret security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Install, route, and secure structured cabling (Cat6/Cat6a and fiber) from telecommunications rooms to network drop locations across multiple facilities.
  • Terminate cabling using industry-standard connectors (e.g., RJ-45) and perform labeling of cables, patch panels, and faceplates for traceability.
  • Conduct testing and certification of network cabling using approved tools to ensure compliance with performance standards.
  • Install cabling from network drops to end-user device locations (excluding device connection).
  • Support installation of network hardware, including switch cabinets, fiber patching, and cable management systems.
  • Ensure all installations meet Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) standards and Air Force building codes.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces in accordance with OSHA, Air Force safety, and FOD (Foreign Object Damage) requirements.
  • Document installation and testing results and provide reports to Government representatives.
  • Coordinate work across multiple facilities, supporting large-scale deployment efforts (e.g., hundreds of network drops across dozens of buildings).
