About The Position

We are seeking a candidate with prior cable and/or fiber installation experience who is available to start ASAP to support large-scale projects in the Dubuque, IA area. Work will take place primarily in manufacturing and warehousing environments. This resource will assist with multiple installation projects, including pulling cable, terminating network jacks (devicing), and mounting speakers. This is ideally a contract-to-hire opportunity for a dependable, hard-working individual who is eager to learn and grow. Technician I – Basic Installer Responsibilities include pulling cable, following direction, adhering to all procedures, using proper PPE, and assisting with jobsite cleanup. Technicians will operate man lifts up to 30 feet high and must follow all required harness and safety protocols. This is expected to be a 2-month project, with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on performance and project needs. Candidates with lead, foreman, or supervisory experience are strongly preferred but not required. The primary need is for a basic-level installer with hands-on experience in: Pulling cable Splicing fiber Mounting enclosures Role Overview Responsible for the physical installation of communications hardware, including fiber optic cabling and electronic devices, completed in an efficient and high-quality manner while maintaining a professional and safe work environment.

  • Background in communications or construction
  • Previous experience with cable pulling and placement
  • Lead, foreman, or management experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Installation of data, voice, video, and fiber optic cabling
  • Termination of data, voice, video, and fiber optic cables
  • Multi-conductor copper and fiber optic splicing
  • Installation of data, voice, and video hardware
  • Proper care and maintenance of company- and customer-owned equipment
  • Full compliance with all safety programs and requirements
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
  • Operation of power tools, drills, saws, vehicles, and man lifts
  • Use of cable testing equipment for data and fiber optic systems
