The North Carolina State Highway Patrol's primary mission is to reduce collisions and make the highways of North Carolina as safe as possible. The NCSHP has more than 1,600 troopers who cover nearly 80,000 miles of North Carolina roadways, more than any other state except Texas. In addition to enforcing the state's traffic laws, state troopers also guide traffic during hurricane evacuations, re-route traffic around hazardous chemical spills, and they stand ready should any act of terrorism occur. State Troopers are committed to protecting North Carolina's motoring public. The Network Operations Center Supervisor performs advanced technical and analytical work to ensure the seamless operation of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol’s critical communication infrastructure. This role provides direct day-to-day supervision for eight Operations Technicians within the Network Operations Center and oversees contractors engaged in VIPER infrastructure and maintenance. The Supervisor is responsible for the integrity of large-scale networks, including the Voice Interoperability Plan for Emergency Responders (VIPER), CJIN/DCI, OFM, and the NCSHP Internal Network. Moving beyond first-level support, this position conducts high-level troubleshooting, network design, and security analysis to support the Continuity of Operations for statewide emergency services.
