About The Position

The Network Security Analyst is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, reliable, and high-performing enterprise network infrastructure and supporting other areas of our Security and Operations team. This role ensures connectivity across LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN environments, supports network security initiatives, and partners with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions aligned with business objectives. Additionally, this role protects the security posture and compliance of Vera Bradley’s brands through diligent investigation, risk assessment, and partnership with the business and technology resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of information security experience
  • Current security focused certification such as CISSP or Security+
  • Dedication to providing supreme service to all levels of the organization
  • Understanding of SOX, PCI, and/or CCPA compliance controls
  • Understanding of system security best practices
  • Ability to maintain current with advancing technology
  • Ability to manage technical projects to success
  • Excellent troubleshooting and customer support skills
  • Proficiency utilizing the Microsoft Windows platform and Microsoft Office software
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent organization and follow through skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain good rapport with internal and external customers and handle situations with confidence, tact and resourcefulness
  • Flexible, adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast paced office environment

  • Ability and willingness to mentor team members and perform technical training and knowledge transfer
  • Flexibility to provide after hours support (on call) and to occasionally work 2nd and 3rd shifts as well as weekends

  • Ability to operate office equipment, including computers, copiers, fax machines, and phones
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds (PC/server/network setup and installation)

Responsibilities

  • Architect, implement, and manage enterprise LAN, WAN, and WLAN infrastructure.
  • Design and maintain VPN tunnels for partners, vendors, and customers.
  • Configure and manage firewalls and network security controls.
  • Establish monitoring, alerting, and logging on all core network devices.
  • Troubleshoot complex network performance and connectivity issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date OS/firmware on network infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain accurate network documentation.
  • Research and recommend new technologies to enhance business performance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  • Research, assess, and assist/lead the implementation of security solutions
  • Perform penetration testing on systems to validate security configuration
  • Evaluate existing environment to identify opportunities for improved security
  • Monitor, scan, and test systems for security vulnerabilities and resolve issues
  • Perform vulnerability testing and remediation on internal and external facing systems
  • Ensure new and existing technologies are properly sending logs to the company’s SIEM
  • Assist in the creation, monitoring, and enforcement of security policies and procedures
  • Assist in the development and implementation of security response plans
  • Assist with enforcing the company’s compliance programs
  • Assist with network device deployment and support
  • Provide network administration and design support with a security focus
