About The Position

This on-site position is responsible for monitoring, configuration, and maintenance of the company’s local area network (LAN), WAN, SAN network systems in accordance with industry best practices as well as the installation, configuration and maintenance of network security and IPS/IDS systems. Excellent knowledge of Dell, HP and Cisco hardware, virtual appliances, IOS and Microsoft server & client OS is required. This individual will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining of data backups and restorations as well as the monitoring, maintenance and administration of network mobile device management systems.

Requirements

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or information technology and/or 1-2 years equivalent experience working in an information technology department.
  • Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including: Windows 10/11 Professional; Windows Server 2012-2025; Linux CentOS.
  • Extensive support experience with: Microsoft Exchange Server; Microsoft SQL Server; Server Virtualization using VMware / ESXi.
  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including: Cisco UCS; Pure Storage Solutions; Cisco Switches and Routers; Backups; Endpoint Protection; VoIP systems; TCP/IP, DHCP, WINS; Routing, DNS, VLANS and Subnetting.
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Excellent knowledge of Dell, HP and Cisco hardware, virtual appliances, IOS and Microsoft server & client OS is required.

Nice To Haves

  • CompTIA, VMware, Symantec, Cisco certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform network design and capacity planning.
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery.
  • Prepare and ensure accuracy of documentation, procedures manuals, and help sheets for network installations, including data, voice, and video systems.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts. Evaluate and recommend for purchase networking hardware and software products.
  • Write technical specifications for purchase of networking hardware and software products.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, software, networked peripheral devices, cabling, and networking hardware and software products.
  • Configure and Maintain physical and virtual servers, including e-mail, print and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software.
  • Configure and Maintain security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Configure and Maintain all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, UPSs, and voice and video systems.
  • Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, and/or e-mails regarding network connectivity problems.
  • Perform on-site analyze, diagnosis, and resolution of complex network problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware and software solutions, including off-site repair.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.
