About The Position

The job of Network Administrator is done for the purpose/s of maintaining computer networks and servers to meet the technology needs of the district; resolving network and server operational issues; providing information, direction and/or recommendations regarding network operations, and maintaining existing network, server, and security systems. Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Management Information Systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience may substitute for education.
  • Particular experience in the following is preferred; Windows Server, Active Directory, DHCP, Cisco Duo, Google Admin Console, Windows 10, Chromebook/Chrome OS, PC hardware
  • Certifications or licenses in related fields may substitute for experience or education.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses malfunctions of network hardware and/or software applications for the purpose of determining appropriate actions to maintain computer and network operations.
  • Attends meetings as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
  • Coordinates with other staff for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
  • Inspects computer and network equipment requiring specialized computer repair and trouble shooting skills for the purpose of identifying and verifying repair needs.
  • Installs computer and network equipment requiring specialized computer and network skills for the purpose of maintaining safe and effective computer labs and networks.
  • Prepares written materials (e.g. reports, memos, letters, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
  • Procures equipment, supplies and materials for the purpose of maintaining availability of required items and completing jobs efficiently.
  • Repairs computers, peripherals, network equipment and software, requiring specialized computer and electronics repair skills for the purpose of maintaining computer and network equipment in a safe and functional operating condition.
  • Transports a variety of items (e.g. equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of providing materials at job site or transporting equipment for repair.
  • Assists other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
