About The Position

Under the inspiring leadership of our IT management team and CTO, the Network Administrator plays a pivotal role in empowering our organization’s digital backbone. You will orchestrate the planning, deployment, and management of our local and wide-area networks, ensuring seamless connectivity, top-tier security, and optimal performance. Your expertise will facilitate efficient communication, safeguard data integrity, and support Trustco Bank’s commitment to excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Computer Networking or related field
  • Minimum of five years of comprehensive experience in network administration and IT operations
  • Extensive knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and security best practices
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
  • Fluent in English; bilingual a plus
  • Access to reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or related discipline
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA are highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Network Design & Optimization: Analyze user requirements, recommend innovative network configurations, and implement solutions aligned with departmental and organizational standards.
  • Infrastructure Deployment & Maintenance: Configure, monitor, and refine network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, domain controllers, and remote access servers to maximize uptime and efficiency.
  • Security Stewardship: Develop and enforce comprehensive security protocols, including firewall management, anti-virus deployment, and user access controls to protect vital banking operations.
  • Integration & Collaboration: Work closely with telecommunications engineers to integrate voice, data, and video applications, ensuring cohesive multi-channel communication.
  • Technical Leadership & Documentation: Maintain detailed technical documentation, develop training materials, and guide cross-functional teams in adopting best practices.
  • Proactive Problem-Solving: Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshoot complex issues, and recommend hardware/software upgrades to keep our network resilient and future-ready.
  • Strategic Planning & Innovation: Assist in defining IT standards, participate in long-term planning, and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance our network infrastructure.
