About The Position

The NDT Level 3 Technician will have ASNT Level 3 certifications in, Ultrasonic Shear-wave (UT), Radiography (RT), Magnetic Particle (MT) and Liquid Penetrant (PT) testing & inspection with related work experience in government and/or commercial industries. Good communication skills, report writing and the ability to work in a team atmosphere is required. They must be familiar with OSHA requirements for safety and hot work onboard naval vessels. Duties include, but are not limited to: Qualified to properly perform specific NDT processes (VT, RT, MT & PT) and specific evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and to record results. Perform work scope review, procedural reviews, and documentation required and preparations of equipment and/or supplies needed. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Must be able to work in the US.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, college or vocational program completion a plus.
  • Must have a valid California driver's license.
  • Must be able to obtain a DBIDS credentials.
  • Must possess sound basic skills (reading, writing and mathematical skills)
  • Completion of a satisfactory background check
  • Passing a drug test and physical examination
  • Eligibility to work in the US.
  • Obtaining DBIDS level security clearance.
  • OSHA 10 Maritime
  • ASNT Level 3 certifications in, Ultrasonic Shear-wave (UT), Radiography (RT), Magnetic Particle (MT) and Liquid Penetrant (PT) testing & inspection

Nice To Haves

  • A plus, 5 years of experience in a ship repair NDT environment.
  • Able to read, comprehend, and prepare technical documentation, specifications, and procedures.
  • MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) computer skills.
  • Understand the Naval Ship Repair requirements and working environment.
