About The Position

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is an organization of approximately 2,000 personnel of which 700 serve at HQ and the remaining staff serve at offices worldwide. NCIS is the DON component with primary responsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE), counter-terrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters. NCIS not only has primary responsibility for all criminal investigative, CI, CT, and cyber matters within the DON, but it also has exclusive investigative jurisdiction in non-combat matters involving actual, potential, or suspected criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and subversive activities. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a VTC Engineer the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the NCIS ITD organization in Quantico, VA. This position serves as a technical leader for all personnel engaged in the delivery of enterprise-scale VTC solutions, focusing on design, implementation, and support of video conferencing infrastructure and services. Configure and manage VTC system infrastructure, Cisco VTC endpoints, and related equipment, as well as designing and implementing call routing strategies for seamless connectivity. Troubleshoot complex VTC and VoIP system issues, provide comprehensive support for conference room environments, and facilitate collaboration with external agencies via VTC technology. This role requires advanced knowledge of VTC and VoIP technologies, including cloud-based solutions and integration methods. Plan, design, and implement various VTC systems by conducting market research, evaluating new technologies, and attending business/technical meetings to brief and discuss to ensure clarity, alignment, and accountability in planning and executing tasks in a timely manner. Interface with Contractor and Government personnel, conferring with equipment and software vendors, and directing subordinate personnel to take appropriate courses of action. Responsible for writing, editing, and preparing graphical presentations of technical information related to VTC systems and services. Maintain a current understanding of emerging technologies and trends in cloud service and relevant application and system technologies to ensure our VTC infrastructure remains cutting-edge and secure.

Requirements

  • Security Clearance Level: Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Required Experience: 7 years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in VTC engineering, including.
  • Possess a strong background in engineering data center environments, along with broad experience working with virtualized environments and a variety of technologies supporting computing capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide an outstanding customer service experience in a variety of circumstances across all organizational levels is essential.
  • Experience and knowledge in areas such as: Windows Server, Linux, VMware, Cisco Unified Communications Server infrastructure, and a variety of system-level applications.
  • Required Certifications: CompTIA Security+ CE
  • Education: BS Degree in technical discipline.
  • US Citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with, or experience in, cloud-based services and environments, particularly MS Teams and Cisco WebEx is highly desirable.
