About The Position

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is an organization of approximately 2,000 personnel of which 700 serve at HQ and the remaining staff serve at offices worldwide. NCIS is the DON component with primary responsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE), counter-terrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters. NCIS not only has primary responsibility for all criminal investigative, CI, CT, and cyber matters within the DON, but it also has exclusive investigative jurisdiction in non-combat matters involving actual, potential, or suspected criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and subversive activities. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Network Administrator (NetOps), the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the NCIS ITD organization in Quantico, VA. Focus on ongoing operation, maintenance, and security compliance of the enterprise network infrastructure across multiple enclaves. Responsible for proactively maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing the performance of existing network systems, ensuring continuous, secure, and highly available network services in accordance with Department of War (DoW) and Navy policies. Performe routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting network issues, implementing and enforcing security controls based on DoW and Navy guidelines, conducting regular security audits and assessments, and ensuring all network operations comply with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., DISA STIGs, NIST frameworks). Participate in incident response efforts, developing and maintaining detailed documentation of network configurations and security procedures, managing the provisioning and operation of network resources to meet enterprise needs, and collaborating with various IT teams. Requirements

  • Security Clearance Level: Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Required Experience: 10 years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer system/network engineering.
  • 3 years of specialized experience related to the assigned task.
  • Expert level configuration of Cisco routers and switches including but not limited to the following models: 4500, 6500, 3750, 3850, ASR 1000, Cisco Nexus platforms 7k, 9k.
  • Expert level knowledge with DMVPN, CISCO AnyConnect, GRE tunnels, IPSECv2, and ISAKMPv2.
  • Expert knowledge of network performance metrics, packet capture and analysis, and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with TACLANEs, SolarWinds, IPAM, Kiwi Syslog Server, DHCP, ISE, ACI, NSX, TACACS, RADIUS, MAB, 802.1x, Event Manager Applet, Macro Creation, TFTP, SFTP, Splunk, Microsoft Visio, and Cisco Firewall Management Center.
  • Experience with SD-WAN, preferably migration from MPLS to SD-WAN.
  • Write procedural documents and test solutions.
  • Experience with and ability to understand, distill and document solution requirements.
  • Required Certifications: CompTIA Security+ CE
  • Education: BS Degree in technical discipline.
  • US Citizenship required

  • The likely salary range for this position is $147,292 - $199,278.
