About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and driven NC START Clinical Coordinator to join our multidisciplinary team supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and co-occurring mental health needs across central North Carolina. As an NC START Clinical Coordinator, your work lives at the intersection of clinical insight and real-world impact. Your days will include:

Requirements

  • Minimum of Master's degree from an accredited university in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or other closely related fields and license-eligible in your field (license preferred)
  • Qualified Professional (QP) status
  • Experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental health diagnoses, or both, particularly those with significant behavioral needs
  • Knowledge of systems of care impacting adults and children with co-occurring I/DD and MH conditions
  • At least one year of working with children and adolescents
  • Willingness to travel within the central NC region for assigned cases and on-call responsibilities (mileage reimbursed)
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

  • Implementing the START model, a proactive crisis prevention and intervention framework
  • Collaborating with cross-system teams to develop and refine crisis prevention plans
  • Conducting formal and informal clinical assessments to guide care recommendations
  • Providing psychoeducation and consultation to families, providers, and community stakeholders
  • Supporting individuals with I/DD and significant behavioral needs in community-based settings
  • Participating in team-based learning, case reviews, and system coordination
  • Completing documentation and data tracking aligned with program standards
  • Participating in rotating on-call coverage, including occasional weekends
